Democrat Genc Pollo has stated that the promise of Edi Rama and many other officials in Brussels to close chapters in 2027 or membership in 2030 is simply a bubble. According to him, these expectations have no chance of being realized.
"I would like to be wrong, but it is very objective to say that these are bubbles and promises that are misused for propaganda. To close the chapter on food safety, let's say, investments in laboratories are needed, which the government does not intend to do. This is one of the problems of a technical nature that Albania must solve. But, while Albania was a functional democracy, with an imperfect but still functional rule of law, it turns into an autocracy where all power is in one hand and is used to rob millions, and where all citizens' data is controlled in a single agency that is under the control of gangs, then it seems an extraordinary luxury to talk about food safety. We have a regression, while certain Brussels officials have applauded progress. This has its own explanations in their misunderstandings, in the illusion of some people that even though things are going badly in terms of democracy, a reformed judiciary can change society ," Pollo said in the studio of "Every Corner" on A2CNN.
