Clashes and rebellions within the Socialist Party are nothing new. For years, factions, lobbies and interests have clashed, but always within a controlled framework. At the height of these clashes, the targets have usually been second-tier figures in the party or government. In the background, Edi Rama has served as the lightning rod, arbiter and beneficiary of the conflict, applying the classic principle of “divide and rule” with discipline.
Rama has used this mechanism for years to strengthen his personal power and keep the political circle around him under control. But the latest situation shows that this scheme has started to go off the rails. For the first time, socialists are appearing publicly who no longer attack internal rivals, but point the finger directly at the prime minister as the source of the problem.
This revolt does not come from the administration, nor from officials who depend on the state's salary. It comes from economically independent individuals, who have been directly affected by the government's actions. One of them is Vladimir Kosta, a former Socialist Party MP in the Gjirokastra region, an entrepreneur and builder, whose buildings were demolished by IMT in the Farka area.
For two weeks, the demolition drive has been intense. But only now has Kosta come out in the open, publishing a video of the use of TNT in apartments built by his company.
His message was not coded, nor cautious. It was direct and defiant. "We have a prime minister who destroys, violates, undermines the wealth that was barely established by his sons and shamelessly seeks foreign investors," he wrote, accompanying the video with the provocative caption "Rama in orgasm."
Kosta is not an isolated case. According to sources from the majority, a number of other entrepreneurs affected by the demolitions have filed lawsuits in court against the IMT's acts. A lawsuit is also being prepared in the Constitutional Court, with the aim of taking the case to Strasbourg. In communications with international representatives in Tirana, these entities claim that the attack on their businesses is politically motivated, as they are considered critics of the prime minister's line within the majority.
But the legal route will not be the only one. Information indicates that a political exit is also being prepared. A group of individuals, who still identify as part of socialist structures in Tirana and several other municipalities, are expected to publicly articulate demands for political change within the majority.
Rama's reaction has been immediate. According to sources, he has begun efforts to divide this group and has succeeded to some extent, as some people have suddenly distanced themselves. This is a known and tried tactic of his. But this time it does not seem to be enough.
Vladimir Kosta has already joined the protests called by Adriatik Lapaj in front of the Prime Minister's Office. In the coming days, those affected by the demolition action are expected to join the protests announced by Sali Berisha, who has declared that there are over three thousand people ready to overthrow the government. Part of this contingent seems to come precisely from the affected stratum of entrepreneurs.
The question remains whether this undertaking can succeed. Protests by groups affected by government decisions are legitimate and normal in a democracy. The problem arises from the indiscriminate association with political actors. In particular, the association with figures like Adriatik Lapaj creates ground for Rama's propaganda, which will present the revolt as a reaction of those who "do not want the liberation of public spaces."

Mos prisni protestat dhe reformimin e PS ta bëjnë ata që nuk mbushnin kutitë e votimit, por mbushnin thasët me para .
