Ilir Meta, president of the PL, who has been in prison since October 2024 by decision of the Criminal Court, was today informed of the charges by SPAK regarding the issues being investigated regarding the CEZ-DIA affair and lobbying in the US.
While welcoming the official closure of the investigations, Meta considers them fabrications that began in December 2019.
"Nothing new from the last meeting on May 27th with SPAK prosecutors.
We strongly and officially raised the request to responsibly investigate who made illegal payments on behalf of the LSI to companies in the US and secondly, to whom they sent the invoices for approval to the Freedom Party, the company GSIS.
"The failure to investigate these two directions is only a consequence of a political dictate, since from a legal and professional point of view this is the simplest thing that can be done and should have been done two years ago," Meta wrote in a post on the social network.
