SPAK demands the return of Berisha to house arrest
GJKKO will consider today the request of SPAK for the return of former Prime Minister Sali Berisha to house arrest.
It is learned that the judge Engert Pëllumbi will examine the appeal of SPAK, against the decision of the judge of GJKKO, Floreja Davidhi, who released Berisha from house arrest. The session starts at 10:00.
SPAK demands the return of Berisha to house arrest, who has been charged with passive corruption in the case of the privatization of the former "Partizani" complex.
The two prosecutors who were investigating the 'Partizani' affair are Arben Kraja and Enkeleda Minollai, who have already passed the file for trial at GJKKO. The preliminary hearing to decide whether the file is passed for trial will be held on January 6 with judge Flojera Davidhi, the same judge who lifted Berisha's house arrest on November 27.
From December 30, 2023, the chairman of PD Sali Berisha was locked up at home, after he continuously refused to implement the first measure that the court decided against him, that of the obligation to appear, as a person accused of passive corruption.
SPAK accuses the former Prime Minister Berisha that with a series of actions he paved the way for the privatization of the former Partizani sports complex, which was followed by the construction of 19 towers, where the beneficiary is his son-in-law Jamarbër Malltezi. Also defendants in the Partizani affair are businessman Fatmir Bektashi, Xhimi Begeja from Malltez, heir to the land and co-owner of 'Homeplan' and Andia Pustina, financier who carried out all financial and legal operations of Homeplan.
The "Partizani" file has been divided into factions by SPAK, which is following the investigations into the wealth of the family of the former "non grata" Prime Minister Sali Berisha and the benefits that his family members may have.
