The leader of the Opportunity Party, Agron Shehaj, has commented on the new "Rama 4" government and the opening of the way for new elections for the Municipality of Tirana.
Shehaj said that it is clear that Rama showed the opposition that he has absolute power.
He emphasizes that in the face of the Socialists' clear electoral advantage, the only way to seriously challenge the SP in Tirana is to select a non-political, uncontroversial and untainted candidate, who enjoys broad social respect and unites all opposition forces.
" Today we have the Socialist Party, which in the last elections in the Municipality of Tirana received about 49% of the votes. It has almost the majority."
The Democratic Party in opposition has about 32% of the votes. After the DP, we are the Opportunity Party with about 6% of the votes. And then 3%, 3%, and so on.
Now, if the DP decides to run a member of the DP, a representative of the DP, the difference and the chances of the DP winning are 49% to 32%.
It's almost impossible! The only option the opposition has is for the entire opposition to find a name that unites them. An external name.
Not a member of the DP. Not a member of the Opportunity Party or other parties.
But a name that enjoys the respect of society, that is unspoiled, that is immaculate, that has shown in life that it has done something.
"And only with such a candidate, with an excellent candidate, can we win against the Socialist Party," said Shehaj.
However, the leader of the Opportunity Party says that this is a big challenge.
"It will take a lot of work, but at least we have some chance of winning."
And if we manage to defeat Edi Rama in the upcoming elections in Tirana, this is the beginning. It is the big change to bring about political rotation in Albania.
"This is the only option we have, " Agron Shehaj proposed.
