Gazment Bardhi, the chairman of the parliamentary group of the Democratic Party, has stated that he has never met with Sali Berisha beyond the meetings of the parliamentary group.
"I have never met Mr. Berisha, even though I had no compunction about meeting him. But, it was unnecessary because we meet every week for a group meeting", declared Bardhi in an interview for A2 CNN.
When it was pointed out to him that on Christmas Day he was seen entering the same building, at the same time, where Sali Berisha was, Bardhi replied: "I, on Christmas Day, enter and leave as a free man where I want. I believe that it is not of public interest where I drink coffee or who I meet in my daily life. No one is the owner of any building".
Furthermore, Bardhi emphasized that "Sali Berisha has said publicly that he will continue to exercise his responsibility, he will continue to be in opposition, and the duty of each of us is to continue the battle against the regime".
"The battle with Edi Rama's regime will continue without any doubt, the confrontation with him will be without any compromise and there will be no defocus or demotivation of the opposition. The whole situation (with Sali Berisha) motivates us to work much harder to fulfill the mission that the citizens have given us", said Bardhi.
