President Bajram Begaj met today in the Presidency, the French counterpart, Emmanuel Macron.
During the face-to-face meeting, Begaj underlined that Macron's historic visit to Albania demonstrates the common interest in strengthening bilateral relations, as well as in the direction of peace, security and development of the Western Balkans region.
Begaj expressed his gratitude for the support that France and President Macron have given to the process of enlargement and European integration of Albania and other countries of the Western Balkans region through the Berlin Process.
The Head of State also thanked the French counterpart for the contribution in support of the dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia, underlining the need to punish and discourage acts of violence and provocations in the municipalities of North Kosovo.
"Kosovo is a sovereign and independent country. Terrorist acts like that of Banjska in Zveçan (September 24, 2023) are unacceptable and reprehensible for its security, but also for the region and the entire European continent," said Begaj .
