Democratic Party leader Sali Berisha gave a press conference, where he said that Albania should take an example from the free elections in Kosovo.
For Berisha, the Kosovo government is three times closer to the EU than the Albanian government.
"Once again, and many times, we must congratulate Kosovo for the model elections it has held. Therefore, in the assessment made by a very prestigious institute, Kosovo's governance came out 3 times closer to European democratic governance than Albania. 3 times closer.
The governance of a country that has 17-18 years of independence, compared to a country that has 100 or so years of independence. It was an extremely significant indicator. The citizens of Kosovo voted freely. They elected the mayors they wanted, there were municipalities in which they won completely independently with only their name and personality, in rivalry with the big parties.
And everything took place within the standards of the law, the opposite of what happens with elections in Albania, where the narco-state dictates everything. Where titanic efforts are made to legitimize the electoral farce and it is our greatest responsibility to stand up and fight against it.
"The message of Kosovo is a wake-up call for us. I want to congratulate you once again with all my heart, both on your behalf and on behalf of all those we represent, for this success, which is a wake-up call for all Albanians," said Berisha.
