The elections for the Democratic Party branch in Korça have been postponed to another date, after the voting process was interrupted due to tensions between participants.
The situation escalated when some supporters, who claimed that their names were missing from the voter lists, opposed the procedure and tore up the ballot papers. This action made it impossible for the normal continuation of the electoral process, where Irvin Bode and Harito Zoto were in the running.
Despite attempts to calm the situation and resume voting through negotiations by political leaders, the process could not return to normal. In these conditions, representatives who came from Tirana to monitor the elections took the ballot boxes and left the site of the process.
It is now expected that the leadership of the Democratic Party will set a new date for the elections in the Korça branch.
