In Belgrade, the meeting between the Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic and the envoy of the Western Balkans, Gabriel Escobar, as well as the envoy of the European Union on the Kosovo-Serbia dialogue, Miroslav Lajcak, has started.
In this meeting, it is expected to discuss the escalation of tensions in the North, and the head of the EU Delegation in Belgrade, Emanuele Giofre, as well as the American ambassador to Serbia, Christopher Hill, will participate in it.
The meeting with Vucic comes after the one held yesterday evening with the Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, where attempts are being made to de-escalate the situation in the northern municipalities.
The envoys of the West are expected to propose to Vučić the three-point plan which they also proposed to Kurt yesterday evening in the hope that an agreement can be reached.
The three points include first starting the work for new elections in the 4 northern municipalities. Secondly, they demand the assurance of the participation of Serbs in the elections and recently the initiation of work by the government of Kosovo for the creation of the Association.
