The President of the Republic, Bajram Begaj, held a meeting today with the leader of the DUI, Ali Ahmeti, who is in Tirana to participate in the rally in support of the Kosovo Liberation Army.
President Begaj praised Ahmeti's role as one of the founders of the KLA, while emphasizing that today's rally alongside veterans in Tirana proves the unanimous support of Albanians for the just war for the liberation of Kosovo.
"The KLA makes every Albanian proud. It is an essential part of our history, because it waged a just war against centuries-old injustice," praised Begaj, who added that the KLA has always had the support of our allies, as it has been a liberating and not an occupying organization.
During the conversation with Ahmeti, the Albanian factor in the region was also discussed. President Begaj spoke about cooperation between each other and unity on issues related to national identity, peace, security and prosperity of the Western Balkans and its Euro-Atlantic integration.
The Head of State guaranteed Albania's support for the Albanian political factor in the region and efforts to ensure a better life for its citizens.
