Journalist Luan Rama has stated that the Socialist Party bears 'a great burden of shame' for not making Fatos Nano president.
Rama has revealed details from Nano's meeting with Meta in 2012.
" The Socialist Party has a great burden of shame for not making Fatos Nano President of the Republic. He had the numbers to do it if he didn't want to, in 2007 when the opportunity arose. In 2012, I was in the negotiating group that Fatos was having with Ilir Meta. I was at the table when this was discussed and when he was convinced that he would become President. To be fair, in that meeting, even though Ilir Meta had four deputies, Meta told Nano that my four votes cannot make you president, even though you have my four votes.
But you should go and sit with Edi Rama and not just get an "ok" from him, but he should call all the SP MPs one by one and ask them to your face, because there are some of them who will not vote for you.
