Ermal Hasimja has reacted after the publication of his name on the opposition's list of candidates for the Municipality of Tirana. In a measured but clear reaction, Hasimja expresses gratitude for the proposal, while leaving open the possibility of joining the race only if there is an official invitation.
" I feel undoubtedly appreciated that my name has been proposed on the list of potential opposition candidates for Tirana and I thank those who have proposed or supported the idea ," Hasimja writes on social media.
He emphasizes that a decision on his candidacy will only come after a concrete offer: " When I receive (if I receive) an official proposal, I will be able to think about it and make a decision ."
Hasimja did not spare his praise for the other two names included in the list, Florian Hackaj and Edlira Cepani. He described them as excellent candidates for the opposition, signaling a cooperative and constructive stance in the face of the common political challenge in the capital.
According to sources, Hasimja's candidacy has been proposed by the Opportunity Party. Meanwhile, the opposition has announced that it is aiming to come up with a joint candidate in Tirana, while the final decision is expected in the coming days.
