DP MP Jorida Tabaku spoke about the most discussed political issue of the moment, the dismissal of Erion Veliaj and the vacancy for the Tirana Municipality.
Tabaku states that the trial against Veliaj reflects the seizure of power.
" The trial against Erion Veliaj reflects the seizure of power and total arrogance. The unanimous vote of the socialist councilors who had defended him until yesterday shows that today we no longer have mechanisms of checks and balances ," the democrat initially said to Klan News.
But are the Democrats ready to go to these elections?
" It is a decision that will be made when the structures gather. A process has begun for the selection of candidates, of course there will be political decisions ," Tabaku replied.
" Whatever the Democratic Party will do, the forums will decide! " she added.
Asked what happened between Rama and Veliaj, she made a strong statement:
The fact that (Veliaj) has gone to the Constitutional Court also paves the way for a process in which I very much hope that Veliaj will also become a repentant justice seeker!
He further said that the opposition has the potential to win in these early elections for the capital.
" For the candidate they have, the system that has been set up, but also that people need hope. Same system, same face ," Tabaku explained.
That being said, could she herself be part of this heated competition?
" I have no such discussion, the forums will gather. I have been to the Tirana municipality, an experience that is a thing of the past for me ," the MP replied.
