The majority today voted with 83 votes in favor of changes in seven ministries during a parliamentary session accompanied by debates and a blockade of the floor by the opposition.
During the voting process, the dismissal of Deputy Prime Minister Belinda Balluku received the largest number of votes in favor, 85, while what stood out was the vote against by Sali Berisha and Jozefina Topalli for the dismissal of Foreign Minister Elisa Spiropali.
Jozefina Topalli later explained this action, saying that it was a technical error and not an expression of her political will.
"During the moment of chaos in Parliament, when the opposition was not being given the floor, I mistakenly pressed two buttons on the system to take the floor. This coincided with the moment of voting for the dismissal of a minister. It is a technical slip and not an expression of my political will. I also clarify that at that moment Mr. Berisha was on the podium and did not vote," said Jozefina Topalli.
Former Foreign Minister of Albania, Elisa Spiropali, who was dismissed last Thursday at the meeting of the Socialist Party Parliamentary Group when the ministers were officially reporting, spoke in the Albanian Parliament today.
Spiropali said that he was surprised how the leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, knew in advance that she would not be a minister.
"I don't only speak English, but also other foreign languages. But I don't speak any language better than Albanian. Even though I speak Albanian, I speak bluntly and speak properly with Albania and for Albania. Every duty here in the Assembly is a great honor. The only thing I regret is that Sali Berisha announced his departure and not someone else. That's why I'm surprised that he came up with the word and nothing else," said Spiropali.
