Prime Minister Edi Rama has reacted after the closure of the diplomatic mission of American Ambassador Yuri Kim. The head of the government, through a long article on Facebook, writes that Kim was "the most American among the Albanians and the most Albanian among the Americans" of all the US ambassadors in Albania.

Yuri Kim left leaving behind at first sight, friends and enemies, who loved or hated him, while closer to the truth is the fact that no one could love him without hating him and no one could hate him without loving him even once. Terrible in appearance, but not so much in fact, because in order to properly appreciate the role of the American ambassadors, especially the ambassador who, with her special protagonist, came to us even in a dream, pushed me to write these lines as well , the question must be asked, "Would it be better if they were not at all or if, instead of plunging headlong into the whirlwind of the country's political and institutional life, Yuri stood like a sphinx on the gentle hill of Elbasan Street ?”…. I say no, definitely not. On the contrary. But that would be a long article, for which there is no place here.
So at the end of her mission, I had no choice but to hand over to Ambassador Yuri Kim, the Great Star of Public Appreciation, for how much she loved Albania, how much she tried to help Albania in its escape, to become a better country than it was when she came, and above all, for my conviction that this kind of America, with its hands inserted into the organism of our institutional life, has been all these years of arduous ascent from the hon the black of the communist hell in the uphill towards the light of democracy, an evil as necessary as the strength it has given to Albania and the Albanian nation in every direction, and undoubtedly as much as the strength it has given to justice in Albania to fight , finally, with the evils that until yesterday seemed eternal and without America on the side would remain so forever.
Therefore, just like these perhaps diplomatically scandalous lines - yes, the truth cannot always be diplomatic when it must be said - gratitude and thanks to Ambassador Yuri Kim, are sincerely felt and thought quite freely, as the plane from Brussels is landing in Tirana, where another American ambassador is expected to soon fall into Albania's sweet trap.
