On May 11, parliamentary elections will be held in Albania, where for the first time, Albanians living abroad will also have the right to vote by mail.
And it seems that the emigrant registration process is being closely followed by diplomats accredited in Tirana.
Spanish Ambassador Alvaro Renedo Zalba, from Elbasan, affirmed today that he sees the Diaspora's vote as important, as it is the right of every Albanian citizen to vote, regardless of where they are located.
"I see the diaspora vote in the parliamentary elections as very important.
"Citizens living abroad, outside Albania, should be given the opportunity to vote, just like Albanians in Spain or other countries," the diplomat said.
The Spanish ambassador made the comment about the diaspora's vote during a meeting at the University of Elbasan where the Erasmus + program was discussed.
