The Democratic Party is getting ready for the early election campaign on November 9th.
Although up to now there is no official candidate for the Municipality of Tirana.
It is learned that preparations for the campaign will begin on Friday, initially with a meeting of the party leadership and the heads of the Democratic Party branches in Tirana.
These moves come at a time when three DP representatives have been holding meetings with the leaders of small opposition parties for a week.
In the decree signed yesterday, October 1, President Bajram Begaj set the date of November 9, 2025, for holding elections in the municipalities of Tirana, Berat, Tepelena, Vlora, Cerrik and Mat.
Even though Article 115 suspends Veliaj's dismissal, Begaj did not wait for the Constitutional Court and decreed the 9th for the holding of elections in Tirana as well.
The Presidency argues that the suspension of the dismissal would only come if Veliaj had appealed to an Administrative Court, and there would have been a decision from it.
