Elections in 2025, Salianji: Berisha under "house arrest" does not

Democratic MP Ervin Salianji says that the security measure 'house arrest' against former Prime Minister Sali Berisha does not prevent the DP from winning in the 2025 elections.

And as an example, Salianji mentioned the case of Aung San Suu Kyi in Myanmar, who for a long time was under house arrest, but this did not prevent her from winning the elections there.

"Yes, that can happen. I take the case of Aung San Suu Kyi, in Myanmar, formerly Burma. He was under house arrest for a long time, the elections were held, he won and changed the political system. The lady in question received the Nobel Prize, so, in this sense, it can be won", said Ervin Salianji in the show "Pa Censure".

According to him, even in the case of Sali Berisha, the main principle of democracy, election by vote, must be respected.

"There is no need to have any doubts, Sali Berisha, as the most voted among the Democrats, is the opposition's candidate for Prime Minister", said the Democratic MP, expressing his belief that with some good moves, the DP can win the elections.

"I believe that the opposition will win over 50% of the citizens' votes and will be in power. This is what I believe and this is what I work for. I believe that with votes Edi Rama can and will win in the 2025 elections.

As far as I am concerned, as an MP for the opposition, I will do my best to make this happen, but it does not depend on one or two individuals. It is up to the DP to win over even the people who are skeptical of it through openness, reliable people, the field work of MPs and structures, as well as a reliable program", said the deputy chairman of the DP parliamentary group.
