The victory of the Hungarian opposition party Tsiza has inspired Ervin Salianji, who reacted by saying that Hungarian opposition leader Peter Magyar showed that autocracies are overthrown by vote.
In a message on the social network Facebook, Salianji writes that Hungary debunked a myth that is used every day as an excuse in Albania, thus stinging the leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha.
He added that the case of Peter Magyar is a lesson that change does not come by itself, waiting for the system to fall, but when you have the courage to challenge and change it.
" A power concentrated for years by Viktor Orbán, with contested elections, captured media and oligarchs fed by the government, seemed untouchable. A story that is very similar to the reality we face today with Edi Rama!
But unlike what we have often seen in Albania, a real turnaround occurred in Hungary. The Opposition did not settle for complaints, cries, did not hide behind excuses, did not give up. It changed itself. It reorganized. It elected a new leader! It had the power to change itself! It restored trust in the citizens.
It denounced with facts and mobilized broad popular support and above all, it brought a new energy through a new leader like Peter Magyar. This is the clear lesson, change does not come by itself, waiting for the system to fall. Change comes when you have the courage to challenge and change it.
This is why we have long since launched the movement for change in the Democratic Party! A movement that is not built on alibi, but on responsibility. That does not seek power for itself, but trust from the citizens. That is not afraid of the system, but challenges it every day. Because one truth remains and was reconfirmed today in Hungary; no power is stronger than the citizens united. Hungary did it, it is our turn, ”writes Salianji.
