The Electoral College will today postpone the DP's lawsuit against the Central Election Commission, which described the Freedom Party as the largest party in the opposition, giving it 2 members in the KEZAZ of the Kukës elections that will be held on September 24 .
Likewise, today is the deadline for political parties that will seek to be registered by the Central Election Commission for partial localities in Kukës.
DP of Basha will have 1 member, while the Socialist Party will have 3 members.
The DP does not agree that the Freedom Party should be considered the largest opposition party, as it confuses the democrats.
At the meeting of August 22, KAS dismissed the complaint and refused to consider it. The DP appealed the decision and on September 1 at 09:00 the Electoral College will examine the request of the DP for "Repeal of decision no. 179, dated 22.08.2023, of KAS "Regarding the non-acceptance for review of appeal request no. 93, dated 20.08.2023, filed by the "Democratic Party of Albania". And the obligation of the Complaints and Sanctions Commission (KAS) to take a decision, regarding the appeal request no. 93, Dt. 20.08.2023, filed by the subject "Democratic Party of Albania".
Two days ago, the lot was drawn and the panel that will judge the DP's request was appointed: Marsela Dervishi (Rapporteur) and members Sokol Ibi, Manjola Xhaxho, Esmeralda Xhili and Edlira Petri.
In the elections for the Kukës municipality, which will be held on September 24, Re-establishment will compete with Imri Vata, SP with Albert Halilaj. Arif Rexhmati, who is also the chairman of the official Democratic Party Dega Kukës, is the most talked about candidate from the PD led by Lulzim Basha.
