Analyst Roland Bejko spoke about the elections for the Municipality of Tirana. He said that the tendency of the electorate's will in local elections leans towards the party that is in power and in these conditions the Socialist Party has a high advantage in relation to its rivals.
According to him, Tirana ended its history with Sali Berisha in 2013 and citizens no longer vote for him.
"The DP, even in the situation it is in today, has names and will have them. Even in times of crisis, it has them. Local elections go where political elections are. The DP, Berisha himself, hesitates to announce a candidate, because he is also in a dilemma, saying: ok, those votes are there, but will those other opposition parties, which in the general elections said they would not join, join Berisha in the elections? Rama wins the elections in Tirana, because he just won the general elections ," he said.
Asked why Rama wants elections to be held in Tirana as soon as possible, Bejko stated that:
"If Tirana is left without a mayor, it will cost it politically. Time plays a role. Tabaku would be an excellent candidate for the Municipality of Tirana, but she smells that her political image is burning. Tirana and the people of Tirana have closed the story with Sali Berisha, they have not voted for him since 2013 ," he said to "Abc News".
