The process of electing the leader of the Democratic Party of Albania in Korça has been suspended, and will most likely be postponed, due to the clashes that have arisen from the very beginning.
Debates have begun over the voter lists, where some members did not have their names on the list, and others had their names but did not have membership cards. This has led to a situation that has forced the commission to stop the process, while Ivi Kaso, political leader for the Korça Region, has held a meeting with the two candidates running, Irvin Bode and Harito Zoto, but also with the current head of the branch, Dhimitraq Çyfeku.
The problem also stated by MP Fidel Kreka has to do with the inaccuracy of the list of members with voting rights.
" It is a situation that we are not agreeing with the district leader and the former leader of the DP. Many Democrats do not have their names on the list. They say they should have a card. They do not have one. They are members and know them very well. It can be postponed as a process ," said Kreka.
There is still no official reaction from the DP regarding what happened, but it seems that even Kaso has not been able to solve the problem. Initially, it was reported that people who did not have either a membership card or an identity card, but whose names were on the list, had come to vote, while others who had membership cards could not find their names on the list.
