Former Minister of Finance Arben Malaj has spoken about the criminalization of politics and the high level of corruption.
Many scandals have been denounced, tried, socialists are now behind bars, etc. Why has the level of corruption reached these figures?
Arben Malaj: I am not happy about any of them, because I take into account the costs that their families incur. Governance with a few businessmen and a very narrow circle of people produces this kind of phenomenon, it encourages corruption and does not fight it, so it facilitates state capture, it does not prevent it. So within this governing system based on this model, phenomena of state capture and corruption would definitely arise.
It is okay for Rama to say that the blame is individual and that he has no knowledge of those who "stab him in the back" and that he cannot provide any account or answer regarding these affairs.
Arben Malaj: The problem with a leader of this format is that even problems or crises turn into victories. It is definitely up to Rama to ask for a sincere apology because it is like the work of a team. The coach cannot be thought to have no responsibility.
Is he aware of what is happening?
Arben Malaj: I say that for sure, but I know that the secret services are the first to receive the signal. The Prime Minister had a directorate for the fight against corruption, I don't believe that Rama was not informed. I don't know if he understood and closed it, reported it to him and didn't accept it?
