The United States of America has warned Serbia that they will take measures against it, after the attacks in the north of Kosovo. This was confirmed today by the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, who said that he had a conversation with the American Secretary of State, Anthony Blinken, about the situation in Kosovo.

He said that he communicated to Blinken that he is against the measures imposed on Serbia. Vucic justifies himself by saying that he agrees with the American Secretary of State that the escalation of the situation is necessary, where according to him KFOR has an important role. But he appears to have received a threatening phone call from the US number two. The "Pamphlet" a few days ago showed that it was the Americans who, thanks to interceptions, were the first to discover the ominous scenario in the North.

"I spoke with Blinken where we agreed that expansion is necessary, a stronger role of KFOR, especially in the north. I denied the lies about a high degree of readiness of the Serbian army. We do not agree with the nature of what happened in Kosovo. Blinken also talked me through some measures. I said that I am against it", said Vucic.

Earlier, it was the American ambassador in Kosovo, who said that the attack was well organized, giving signals that Serbia was behind everything.

"We know it was coordinated and sophisticated ," the US ambassador to Kosovo, Jeffrey Hovenier, told Politico, adding that the gunmen appear to have been militarily trained. "The amount of weapons shows that this was serious, with a plan to destabilize security in the region."

Kosovo police said a group of about 30 heavily armed Serbs ambushed a police patrol early Sunday, killing one officer and wounding another, before fleeing and taking refuge in a nearby Orthodox monastery. The three gunmen were killed in a shootout with police and two were arrested. Most of the Serb gunmen managed to sneak out of the monastery and escape on foot, Kosovo authorities said.

Western officials said the incident reflected heightened geopolitical tensions in the Balkans, as Russia, frustrated by Europe's strong support for Ukraine, tries to use its influence with allies in Serbia and elsewhere to stoke tensions, particularly in Bosnia and Kosovo.

Hovenier said the U.S. still needs to determine whether Serbia was responsible for the attack, as Kosovo claims, but he said equipment seized by Kosovar authorities, including rocket launchers, mines and an armored personnel carrier, were "military ranks unavailable to ordinary citizens".
