The Special Prosecutor's Office of the Republic of Kosovo arrested a Serbian citizen as a suspect for war crimes in Kosovo. PSRK announces that after intensive investigative work by the Kosovo Police, the War Crimes Investigation Directorate and with the authorization of the Special Prosecutor, a Serbian citizen with the initials mP has been arrested
He is suspected of having committed the criminal offense "War crime against the civilian population", this offense sanctioned by Article 142 in relation to Article 22 of the Criminal Law of the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia (hereinafter "LP-RSFJ") as a law in force in the time of committing the criminal offense.
"The Special Prosecutor's Office announces that a criminal complaint has been filed against the same person with the suspicion that in September 1998, in the "Hoqa Mahall" neighborhood in Prizren, he participated in the murder of 3 civilian persons of Albanian nationality, who were not involved in the war" , it is stated in the notice of the Prosecutor's Office.
By order of the case prosecutor, the defendant has been arrested and is expected to appear before the court within the legal term.
