The spokesperson of the European Union, Peter Stano, has stated that their role in the Kosovo-Serbia dialogue is to help the parties behave like Europeans.
But according to him, the fact that Kosovo and Serbia were not able to do it was not due to the failure of the EU, but to those who did not keep their word.
" There is a clear lesson, that if the parties do not want to move, no one will be able to force them. The fact that they have not been able to do so so far and move forward in the normalization process is not due to the alleged failure of the EU as a facilitator, it is due to their failure to keep their word. We will arrive there, beyond the mandate of a special envoy" , he said.
