The Kosovo-Serbia meeting ends in Brussels, Bislimi: Belgrade continued the old

The tripartite meeting of the EU—Kosovo, Serbia, for the normalization of relations between Pristina and Belgrade, has ended.

Kosovo's chief negotiator, Besnik Bislimi, after the meeting in Brussels with his Serbian counterpart, Petar Petkovic, declared that Serbia had "worrying positions" on the issue of the transfer of financial assets in the dinar currency from Serbia to Kosovo.

He stated from Brussels that today's meeting was more concrete and that the European mediator, Miroslav Lajcak, gave a new proposal.

After the meeting with the chief negotiator of Serbia, Petar Petkovic, Bislimi said that now the European mediator, Miroslav Lajcak, will come up with a new proposal about the solution of this issue.

" ...After several hours of talks, Lajcak has come up with a new proposal that should have been the last proposal coming out from Lajcak and we have to give him the last comments. The proposal is an approximation, it goes in the right direction, but it takes time for the parties to analyze the legal elements and the like. How to enable the financing of schools and ambulances, they have asked to be supplied by parallel structures, but without showing what these structures are. Their idea (Serbian side) was that they should be financed until the Association is established, and then it would be the competence of the Association. Of course, this did not meet Lajcak's understanding, nor ours" , said Bislimi, for KTV

According to Bislim, the statements of the Serbian side "were worrying". He said that the Serbian envoy continued the old game with tendencies to provide methods that would guarantee the licensing of illegal institutions in Kosovo.

" Unfortunately, we have heard some worrying statements from the side of Serbia that have caused the attitudes to leave. For the first time, we have seen openly from Serbia how they see the request for the creation of the Association, and for the international community and Kosovo it is meant as a mechanism that helps municipalities with a Serbian majority to coordinate in the exercise of some actions. Serbia today showed that it sees it as a mechanism for legitimizing the presence of Serbia's illegal structures in Kosovo. The old game continued with tendencies to provide methods that would get guarantees for the licensing of illegal institutions ", emphasized the chief negotiator of Kosovo.
