The trial in The Hague against the former leaders of the KLA, the Serbian

The Serbian witness, who appeared today as the 17th in today's session, admitted before the Special Court in The Hague that before the attack by members of the KLA, the civilian Serbs of that side were armed by Serbia.

Dragica Bozhaniq claimed that the KLA attacked her family and the residents of a village in Rahovec in 1998.

"We were 10 Serbian families, we agreed that if anything happened from our side he would protect us and we would protect them, but my husband kept his word that they called him and asked him if he would offer help and they they did not keep their word, they attacked us on July 18, they took us from the yard and when I saw this man I was surprised because there was an agreement. They took us, they entered our houses by force, they demanded some things, we don't know what, they told us to sit on the ground, we sat down, my son was injured, they threw a hand grenade into the house and he fell down, bricks fell on his face , his eyes are also injured, when I saw him I started to cry and I didn't know what to do", she said.

The man's name has not been released to the public, while Bozhaniq claims that the KLA detained the Serb residents of the area several times during this period, keeping men and women separate.

"The first time they took us, then they sent us to the monastery in Zeqishte for two nights, then the second night in the morning, after night the monastery was attacked and a shell hit the dormitory of the monastery, everyone went out into the courtyard, a monk told us we had to surrender, they took out a white sheet as well as one that we were surrendering, again from where they gathered and from the monastery they took us to the center of the village, they put us on buses and from there to another village, in Semetishte, that is, passing through the same road, we stayed a whole day and night there, we were interrogated one by one", she continued.

The witness was also questioned by the victim's lawyer to whom she told that she no longer lives in Kosovo and would never return.

Meanwhile, the witness was asked by the lawyer of the former president Hashim Thaçi about the arming of the civilian Serbs, for which Bozhanic admitted that the residents were armed in advance and had military vests. The session was concluded with questions to Thaçi's lawyer.
