The leader of the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK), Memli Krasniqi, has responded positively to the invitation of the leader of the Vetëvendosje Movement, Albin Kurti.
Kurti has invited Krasniqi and LDK leader Lumir Abdixhiku to a meeting to discuss the situation in the Kosovo Assembly.
Krasniqi said that in this spirit he encourages Kurti to reflect responsibly on the current situation and show sincere will to enable the formation of new institutions. Krasniqi said that the country urgently needs institutional unblocking.
" I have just received a letter from the Chairman of the Vetëvendosje-Guxo-Alternativa coalition, Mr. Albin Kurti, with an invitation for a meeting before the continuation of the constitutive session of the Kosovo Assembly to be held tomorrow. Deeply believing that the Republic of Kosovo urgently needs an institutional unblocking and the restoration of the regular functioning of the highest legislative institution, as well as to pave the way for the constitutional deadlines for the establishment of the Government, I will respond positively to this invitation for a meeting.
In this spirit, I encourage Mr. Kurti to reflect responsibly on the current situation and to show sincere will to enable the formation of new institutions, so that Kosovo can have a legitimate and functional Assembly and Government as soon as possible. In this context, finding a suitable candidate, who enjoys the support of the majority of deputies, would be an important step forward. Of course, there is nothing to discuss on the issue of the deputy speakers of the Assembly, as this is a right guaranteed by the Constitution and clearly defined. The Democratic Party of Kosovo, as always, will continue to behave with institutional responsibility and seriousness, in accordance with the state and citizen interest. We will make all the detailed positions of the PDK public tomorrow, during and after the meeting, through a press conference , "Krasniqi wrote on Facebook.
