The US Embassy in Pristina, speaking to the media, said that it is the responsibility of the political leadership to form the Assembly and a stable Government.
They have said that the creation of the Assembly and Government must be done in accordance with the Constitution of Kosovo.
"It is up to the people of Kosovo to determine who should represent them. Kosovo is a sovereign, democratic, and independent country. It is the responsibility of the political leadership to form a stable Assembly and government in accordance with the Constitution ," a spokesperson for the US Embassy told Express.
Kosovo held national elections on February 9. The LVV led by the outgoing Prime Minister Albin Kurti received 42% or 48 MPs. Despite this, Kurti is not able to get the full 61 votes to elect the Speaker of the Assembly and then proceed with the election of the Government.
PDK, LDK and AAK have so far not shown any signs of possible cooperation with Kurti. Meanwhile, not all non-Serb minorities are in support of Kurti in establishing institutions.
Albulena Haxhiu's candidacy for Speaker of the Assembly has failed a full six times and LVV has shown no signs of changing its name.
