Deadlock in the Kosovo Assembly, Osmani and Kurti remain silent; still no

President Vjosa Osmani and acting Prime Minister Albin Kurti did not say how the process of constituting the new legislature will be unblocked. Representatives of Vetëvendosje emphasized that a majority has been secured and that the results of this will be seen on Saturday, the day when the third continuation of the constitutive session is scheduled.

The two highest state representatives have refused to talk about the solution that should be given to the impasse in the constitution of new institutions.

After the constitution of the new legislature failed on Tuesday, President Vjosa Osmani emphasized in a response to the chairman of the session that the solution must be found within the Assembly. But, a day after the next failure to find a solution, Osmani did not give a new suggestion, reasoning that it was not the right place for this.

"You know that we have a practice that every time we commemorate martyrs and martyrs out of respect for them, we do not mix political topics with this respect ," Osmani said.

The constitutive session is deadlocked after the report of the commission for the verification of mandates was not approved on Tuesday. PDK, LDK and AAK opposed the document on the grounds that the members of the government did not resign before receiving their mandates as MPs.

The report was not put to a vote even in the continuation of the session two days later, as the parties have different views on the processing of the document.

Acting Prime Minister Albin Kurti has not indicated whether his party has secured enough votes to overcome the deadlock in the third extension of the session, which is scheduled for Saturday.

" That's tomorrow, right? " he said.

But the acting Minister of Defense, Ejup Maqedonci, has said that Vetëvendosje has secured the majority.

" Of course we have the numbers. We are all aware that the Vetëvendosje Movement is the winning party and it is not a winner anyway... The opposition, seeing this danger for them, prevented the constitution of the Parliament for two consecutive sessions, which is a blow to democracy..." he said.

He has also announced the possibility of confirming the coalition with Nisma and said that Vetëvendosje has also been determined as the candidate for speaker of parliament.

" I believe this will be announced tomorrow, Saturday, when the next session is scheduled... Of course, we do not enter the session without the name (of the speaker of parliament)," he said.

The Vetëvendosje Movement has emerged as the first party in the elections, securing 48 of the 120 seats in the Assembly. To elect the Speaker and form the government, it needs the support of at least 13 MPs from other political parties./ KohaTv
