Today in Tirana, the III Summit for the Diaspora was held, where the President of Kosovo Vjosa Osmani, present at the invitation of the Albanian Prime Minister, Edi Rama, participated, but not the Prime Minister Albin Kurti.
In an answer to Express Newspaper, the spokesperson of the Government of Kosovo, Përparim Kryeziu, said that Kurti could not participate in this summit due to commitments on the agenda.
Kryeziu also mentioned the session where Kurti will report on the Progress Report of the European Commission.
"The Minister of Education, Science, Technology and Innovation, Arbërie Nagavci, and the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora, Liza Gashi, are participating in the Diaspora Summit which is being organized in Tirana by the Government of the Republic of Kosovo. Also, the President of the country, Vjosa Osmani, is participating. "Due to commitments on the agenda, including today's session of the Assembly of Kosovo where, at the request of the opposition, he will report on the European Commission's Progress Report, Prime Minister Kurti was unable to participate in this event," said Kryeziu.
But even though he did not participate, there was an order for Kurtin Rama.
He said that Alphabet Day, November 22, should be a national holiday in Albania.
For this to be a day of celebration in Kosovo as well, Rama appealed to President Vjosa Osmani to convey this message to her Prime Minister, Albin Kurti.
"The strength of a man, Arbën Xhafer, who is no longer alive, but who had the vision to demand that Alphabet Day, November 22, be a day known as a national holiday for the Albanians of North Macedonia. And I think that now is the day that the Day of the Alphabet, the day of the language that unites us all and that is our greatest treasure and blessing, should be a national holiday in Albania as well and I definitely believe that the President of Kosovo will give this suggestion to his Prime Minister. I listen to the President for myself", said Rama.
For this statement, some laughter was heard in public together with President Osmani and her counterpart Bajram Begaj, who were sitting close to each other.
