The rapporteur for Kosovo in the European Parliament, Viola von Cramon, has said that the removal of stickers from vehicles with Serbian license plates and the recognition of RKS license plates by Serbia is a step ahead of the reality where Serbia de facto recognizes Kosovo.
" There are no more stickers on license plates when you travel from Kosovo to Serbia - and vice versa. One more step towards the reality where Serbia de facto recognizes Kosovo as a state and contributes to peace and prosperity in the region" , she wrote on the X platform.
Even the German Ambassador in Kosovo, Jorn Rohde, reacted to the decision. He has welcomed the decisions of the governments of both countries to remove the "sticker regime".
The Government of Kosovo has decided in an electronic meeting on Thursday to remove the stickers from cars with Serbian license plates. And, at the end of December, Serbia decided from January 1 to recognize RKS license plates and to allow their circulation freely, without placing stickers covering the state's identifying emblem.
