The president, Vjosa Osmani, held a meeting with the ambassador of Italy in Kosovo, Antonello De Riu, while she spoke about the latest developments in the north of the country.

During the meeting, Osmani stated that the criminal groups in the north of Kosovo, which are supported by Serbia, must face justice.

In this meeting where the recent tensions in the north of the country were discussed, Osmani expressed gratitude for the service and professionalism of the Italian KFOR soldiers.

"President Osmani stressed that dealing with the criminal groups supported by Serbia that attacked the Kosovo Police, members of KFOR and EULEX, journalists and citizens should be the only answer and that these attacks should be condemned by all ",  announces the Presidency.

According to Osman, the citizens in the north are the ones who are being harmed the most by this situation.

"She emphasized that the citizens in the north are being harmed the most by this situation, therefore she asked for more intensive cooperation in the direction of guaranteeing a safer environment for citizens and for freedom of expression", it is further stated in the announcement of the presidency .

President Osmani has confirmed the steadfast partnership and readiness for close continuation of coordination in order to guarantee and maintain long-term peace, security and stability in the country and region.
