Albania's Foreign Minister Igli Hasani, following his regional tour, is making a trip to Kosovo today, where he will meet with political leaders in the country.
In a joint conference with his counterpart Donika Gërvballa, Hasani said that the purpose of the regional tour is to share ideas on the work that should be done for the benefit of the region.
Minister Hasani also praised the liberalization of visas for Kosovo, as a very positive step for Kosovo and the region.
He spoke in particular about the attack on the police in the north of Kosovo.
"The region is more threatened today than at any other time during the last decade. We strongly condemn the attack on the Kosovo Police in the north of the country. This attack is a threat to the security and stability of our entire region. The perpetrators must be held accountable and brought to justice soon. Cooperation is needed for the future of the region, Albania and Kosovo are at the heart of this effort. Increasing joint representation remains of national importance," he said.
Hasani said that Kosovo's membership in NATO is one of the priorities of the Albanian presidency of the US-Adriatic Charter, while he added that regional integration in the EU is the only way to guarantee peace and stability in the Western Balkans.
