
The Council of the European Union has today approved the conclusions regarding the developments in the Western Balkans, specifically the dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia.
In this conclusion, it is stated that the Council of the European Union condemns the recent violent incidents in the north of Kosovo and calls for an immediate calming of the situation, based on the key elements that have been determined by the EU on June 3, 2023.
In these conclusions it is also stated that the parties must create conditions to hold new elections in the four municipalities in the north of Kosovo.
According to EU member states, failure to extend will have negative consequences.
They also say it is important to continue the dialogue led by Josep Borell and the rapid implementation of the agreement on normalization and the Implementation Annex, this includes their request for the establishment of the Association of Municipalities with a Serbian Majority.
