The President of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, gave a clear message during her visit to Iowa in the USA.
According to her, Serbia wants to incite war in the region.
"The terrorist attack on September 24 in Banjska, Zvečani was an act of aggression by Serbia against Kosovo, which aimed at the annexation of the north", said the head of the Kosovar state, who seems to have turned this trip to the US into a personal mission to encourage the West to react to Belgrade.
"We have never characterized these as tensions between Kosovo and Serbia, because we are not attacking anyone, we are in our home and we are being attacked, she said during a speech in front of Drake University students.
"What happened on September 24 was the culmination of a serious act of aggression that Serbia was doing to the people of Kosovo within our territory, and that day there were several terrorist groups that entered Kosovo with a large number of weapons, military-grade weapons with which planned to annex the north of the country. Our police acted with great professionalism and prevented the act of aggression in its first minutes", said Osmani.
The greater engagement of NATO troops in Kosovo will prevent armed people from entering the country's territory, she said. Osmani further described Kosovo as the greatest success story of American foreign policy.
During his stay in Iowa, USA, Osmani was also received in a meeting by the mayor of Norwalk, Tom Philips, from whom he was honored with the Key of the City, while he also met members of the Albanian diaspora whom he thanked for their support to the homeland.
