Vjosa Osmani blocked Kurti's minimum wage law

The President of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, will not enact the Law on the minimum wage until the Constitutional Court examines its constitutionality.

The head of the Parliamentary Group of the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo, Besnik Tahiri, submitted on Friday to the Constitutional Court the request related to the evaluation of the constitutionality of the Law on the amendment and completion of the laws that determine the amount of the minimum wage benefit.

This request of AAK was also signed by the two former deputies of the Vetëvendosje Parliamentary Group, Haki Abazi and Fatmir Humolli.

The Presidency has confirmed for the Telegraph that Osmani will not sign the law until the court's decision.

"The Constitutional Court today informed President Osmani that the AAK parliamentary group and two other MPs have requested the review of the constitutionality of the Law on Minimum Wage. Consequently, President Osmani will not sign this law, before the review is carried out in the Constitutional Court", said Bekim Kupina, media advisor of the Presidency.
