The Police Inspectorate of Kosovo has announced that it has completed the evaluation of the actions of the police regarding the murder of the 18-year-old in Podujevë, Lulzim Fejzullahu.
The investigations were undertaken after the raising of some issues which have been presented as concerns in the public opinion.
The Police Inspectorate of Kosovo clarifies that the detailed examination of the file shows that the response time of the police and emergency units from the moment of the call to the scene was quick.
Also, it is known that the investigative actions in the field, the preservation of the scene, the treatment of the victim, the provision of videos and the notification of the relevant units and the prosecution, was done in time and according to the Code of Criminal Procedure and police procedures.
The IPK has also announced that it has compared and analyzed the quick reports that were sent from the Podujevë Police Station to the Regional Operational Communication Center in Pristina and the quick report that this center forwarded to the General Directorate of Police.
Analysis and comparison show that these reports do not have the same content. IPK has found that the investigation file of the case contains the quick report compiled by the Podujevë Police Station, which describes the event according to the facts and evidence found at the scene.
"The first report published by the Operational Coordinating and Communication Center of the DPP, has been changed by the official of the Regional Operational Communication Center Prishtina. This change was made based on the communication that the official of this Center had with the Police Station in Podujevë.
The same report was submitted on the same day to the Prosecutor together with the Criminal Complaint, while the amended report by the official of the Prishtina Regional Communication Operational Center was forwarded only to the General Directorate of Police in Prishtina (and the same report was published in report 24 hours from KP on 15.01.2024)", it is further stated.
Although the change in this report did not affect the integrity of the investigation, IPK has decided to initiate disciplinary proceedings against the responsible official.
In addition, the IPK has announced that it will initiate an inspection to analyze and evaluate the way of reporting and communication as well as the drafting of quick reports at all levels within the Kosovo Police.
