The murder of the Serbian policeman, Dacic: We will demand the arrest of Faton

The Minister of Internal Affairs of Serbia, Ivica Dacic, said this Saturday that the authorities in Belgrade will arrest any possible person who helped Faton Hajriz commit the murder of the Serbian policeman.

He also said that the police are working to determine the motives and goals of Faton Hajrizi, adding that the arrest of Hajrizi's brother will be requested by Germany, as the documents found at the scene belong to him.

"When someone attacks the state as Faton Hajrizi did, then it is a terrorist act", Dacic told TV Prva.

"He is relatively young to participate in combat activities during the NATO bombings, but he belongs to a group that glorifies the Kosovo Liberation Army, we will determine what his goals and motives were and we await a response from Germany on questions about whether his brother was really in Germany or not," he said.

Faton Hajrizi was arrested on Friday by the Serbian police, 1 day after the murder of the policeman in Loznica.

Arrested for the first time in 2000 for the murder of a Russian soldier, Faton Hajrizi from the Municipality of Skenderaj, would turn into a person with a long criminal history and fame for many escapes from Kosovo prisons.

For the last time he escaped from an open prison in Kosovo on July 6, 2024. A few days later he became a suspect in the murder of a policeman in Serbia and was killed while on the run by the Serbian authorities. on July 19.

At the time of his last escape from Kosovo, Faton Hajrizi was described as a disciplined prisoner who had even earned the right to go home on weekends.
