Infidelity can happen in any relationship, but one longtime private investigator says certain professions come up time and time again in his cases. Some are expected. Others, not so much. And when someone who spends half their life in parking lots, hotels, and on late-night surveillance speaks up… they probably know a little more.
Paul Evans, a private investigator with a long history of infidelity cases, has revealed the 5 jobs he's "burned his head" the most. And according to him, the work he does can make it easier - or harder - to do dirty things outside of a relationship.
The five professions that "appear" most often in his cases
IT employees
They know technology better than anyone and are... masters at hiding conversations, second accounts or secret chats. The detective himself says he has handled "far more cases in IT offices than one would expect."
Call center employees
Busy schedules, stress, lots of things in common with colleagues, and endless hours spent together. As Evans says, "work friendships often cross the line" when workdays are long and tiring.
Salespeople and professionals who travel frequently
People who are constantly on the road, in different cities and hotels from which they return bills to work, have more opportunities, but also less control from home. Simply put, it becomes “easier” for them to find extramarital affairs. “We followed them all over the country,” he says characteristically.
Flight attendants and airline staff
Constant flights, overnight stays in hotels and long hours with the same crew. Evans recalls a case of a flight attendant who had a long-term relationship with a pilot from another company and they would secretly meet in the same hotels every time they traveled.
Doctors and nurses
According to Evans, it's No. 1 on the list. Night shifts, intense stress, and very close collaboration create "bonds that are not easily understood by outsiders." In one case, a nurse met with a doctor in an empty hospital room, while at home they believed they were working overtime.
