Bruce Willis' wife, Emma Heming Willis, has shared touching details about how their two daughters, Mabel and Evelyn, are coping with the actor's difficult diagnosis of frontotemporal dementia (FTD).
In 2023, the family confirmed that the famous actor was suffering from this rare form of dementia, having retired from acting a year earlier due to the impact the disease was having.
The 47-year-old recently spoke about how her children are going through this difficult time. She said that the girls are having a hard time, missing out on important moments with their father, but they are also strong and learning to cope with the changes that are happening.
"They are sad, they miss their father very much, but they are strong," Emma said, adding:
"I don't know if the children will ever recover, but they are learning and so am I."
Following his diagnosis, Bruce now lives in a special home, adapted to his needs, with 24-hour care, and is separated from his family. Emma said it was one of the hardest decisions she had to make, but she believes it was the right one. She also admitted that she is going through a difficult time, but is trying to live with the grief and maintain a connection with her husband through care and love.
