In a trial held in Los Angeles, a woman who works as a security guard testified that Cardi B humiliated her during an incident at a medical office in 2018. Emani Ellis alleged that the rapper, who was four months pregnant at the time, spat on her, scratched her cheek with her nails and made racist slurs.
The incident allegedly occurred when Ellis approached Cardi B with her phone at a gynecologist's office, with the singer becoming agitated, believing the security guard was trying to expose her private visit. In her testimony, the woman denied using her phone to take photos and said Cardi B told her, "Why are you telling people you saw me?"
The security guard tried to calm her down, but she said the rapper threatened to lose her job, belittled her role, insulted her about her body and called her racist. Emani Ellis also testified that Cardi B tried to hit her but failed, and that she eventually needed plastic surgery for a gash on her cheek from the singer's long nails. The security guard has filed a lawsuit for assault and battery.
Cardi B was in the courtroom during her testimony, visibly calm, accompanied by her lawyers. The rapper has faced other legal troubles in the past due to her explosive nature.
