Italian actress Caterina Murino has become a mother for the first time at the age of 48. She became known to the public with her role as Bond's daughter in the film "Casino Royale".
The actress herself confirmed the good news, through a post on social media. After a long journey accompanied by difficulties and efforts to fight infertility, Murino became a mother in August of this year, giving birth to a son whom she named Demetrio Tancredi Rigaud Murino.
Meanwhile, the 48-year-old humorously accompanied her post on Instagram by saying that her cats had "gained a little brother."
"Demetrio was born on August 21, 2025, at 6:17 p.m. We are well and very happy, although aware of the sleepless nights that await us," Murino wrote.
The actress has spoken openly over the years about her challenges with infertility, calling it one of the most painful periods of her life. Last year, she confessed that she had felt deep despair over her inability to become a mother, but she did not lose hope.
With the support of her partner, French lawyer Edouard Rigaud, and through assisted reproduction, she managed to become pregnant.
Despite the two miscarriages she experienced previously, her pregnancy this time passed without complications:
"I had a completely normal pregnancy – no diabetes, no insomnia, no worries."
With her story, Caterina Murino wants to give courage to women facing the same challenges, reminding them that miracles are possible, even when they seem unattainable.
