The debate over the new project in the Zvërnec area has sparked strong reactions on social networks and in public opinion, with a large portion of citizens and activists opposing the construction of a large tourist resort in that area.
The project, linked to the company "Zvërnec South Adriatic Development" which includes international names such as Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner, is being seen by opponents as an intervention that could affect the ecosystem and natural habitats of the area.
Meanwhile, pressure on the network has also shifted to Albanian public figures, whom users have asked to take a stand and react publicly on the issue.
Romeo Veshaj, Donald Veshaj and Bora Zemani have also ended up at the center of criticism, who have been widely commented on in their Instagram posts.
User comments have been numerous and often harsh, with many of them accusing them of lack of response and indifference to an issue directly related to an area considered symbolic for Vlora and the Albanian coast.
Numerous comments have appeared on their profiles asking them to take a public stand, while some users have gone even further with direct criticism and harsh tones.
However, so far, none of them have made a public response to the ongoing debate, choosing not to comment on the situation on social media.
The issue continues to be controversial online, with the clash between positions for and against the project growing more intense every day.
