Comedian and actor Russell Brand has been charged with new charges, including a new case of indecent assault and another for assaulting two women.
The new charges, confirmed by prosecutors, involve two women and follow five other charges filed in April involving four other women. The related events date back more than two decades, according to Reuters reports.
Russell Brand, 50, is expected to make his first appearance on the new charges on January 20 at Westminster Magistrates' Court. The trial on the previous cases is set for June 16 at Southwark Crown Court.
He had previously pleaded not guilty to the first five charges in May.
Once a well-known British presenter and ex-husband of singer Katy Perry, Brand has denied any accusations of non-consensual relationships.
After the initial allegations were made public, Brand said he had a history of reckless behavior and sex addiction, but that he had “never committed any acts of coercion against anyone.” The initial investigation began in September 2023, following reports on Channel 4’s Dispatches and the Sunday Times newspaper.
