He was arrested for illegal possession of a weapon, who did Gjesti want to

Besart Kelmendi, the winner of the fourth edition of Big Brother VIP Albania and a singer from Peja with the stage name Gjesti, has been detained by the Kosovo Police in Pristina on suspicion of possessing weapons without a permit.

Sources for "Demantim News" report that the singer is suspected of having gone armed to Erkand Shabani, the owner of the Onima music company.

According to the same sources, there have been tensions between the parties before, while this time the situation is suspected to have escalated after the artist allegedly threatened him with a firearm. The conflict is thought to be related to a contract that Gjesti had signed with the Onima company before his entry into the Big Brother VIP Albania show.

After completing his participation in this reality show, he had requested to terminate his contract with the music company, which - according to sources - caused a clash between the parties.

According to preliminary information, the artist is being held in police custody for 48 hours, a standard investigative procedure that allows the Kosovo State Prosecution to review the evidence and circumstances of the case before deciding whether the case will proceed to court.

According to the legislation in force in Kosovo, unauthorized possession or carrying of weapons is punishable by a fine of up to 7,500 euros or imprisonment of up to five years. However, in cases where the weapon was not used to commit another criminal offense, courts often impose lighter punitive measures, such as a fine or suspended sentence.

Authorities are expected to release further official information once the initial investigation procedures are completed.
