UEFA's Appeals Committee sanctioned the Football Association of Serbia this Friday to play a match behind closed doors and a fine due to the discriminatory behavior of its fans in the EURO 2024 qualifier against Montenegro. played on March 27.

According to UEFA, after the conduct in the match played in Podgorica, the Appeal Commission ordered the execution of the disciplinary measure, which was imposed in July last year by the Disciplinary Commission, due to racist attitudes, the execution of which was suspended for a period of two years.

The Serbian Federation has also been ordered to pay two fines, in the total amount of 53,000 euros.

However, following an appeal filed by the Football Federation of Serbia, the UEFA Appeals Committee closed the case opened by the Disciplinary Committee for discriminatory behavior in the match against Lithuania, also a qualifier for "EURO 2024", which was played on March 24 last year.

Serbia, which leads Group G of the qualifiers for "EURO 2024", with six points, achieved in victories over Montenegro and Lithuania, both by 2-0, will face Bulgaria on June 20, in the round of third.
