Atletico-Arsenal, UEFA entrusts a Dutch team of referees

Danny Makkelie will referee the Champions League semi-final in Madrid, with full support from the referee from the Netherlands

UEFA has confirmed that the Champions League semi-final first leg between Atletico Madrid and Arsenal will be refereed by an all-Dutch panel of referees. The match takes place in Madrid on Wednesday, April 29, with kick-off at 21:00 CET.

Danny Makkelie has been appointed as the main referee for the match. He will be assisted by Hessel Steegstra and Jan de Vries, while Serdar Gözübüyük will act as the fourth official.

In the VAR system, Dennis Higler will be responsible, assisted by Pol van Boekel.

UEFA has previously announced the names of the referees for the other semi-final between Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich.
